The Biggest soccer event is here again!
And as usual, For Yangasport, we go always come through with our confirm Predictions…
England VS USA
Buoyed by a 6-2 crushing of Iran, England will look to seal their spot in the World Cup knockout stages when they face USA on Friday. The Three Lions looked sharp in front of goal in their opener, and, as a result, the odds for home win have been dropping.
Anyhow, home win should be considered as Gareth Southgate’s men produced a brilliant display in the triumph over Iran. It has to be noted that the two teams played out a 1-1 draw at the 2010 World Cup finals.
Prediction, England to win
Netherlands vs Ecuador
Khalifa International Stadium will host Friday’s World Cup game between Netherlands and Ecuador, the two teams who defeated Senegal and Qatar respectively in their openers. The Oranje had to fight tooth and nail to break the deadlock against the Lions of Teranga, but they are now on the right track to advance to the knockout stages.
El Tri, on the other hand, will rely on Fenerbahce attacker Enner Valencia, who scored a brace against the World Cup hosts. Valencia suffered an injury in the Group A opener, but he should recover in time to face Netherlands. Anyhow, a close encounter is on the horizon in Doha as both sides should be happy with one point from the match.
Our prediction, Both team to score
Tunisia VS Australia
Al Janoub Stadium will host Saturday’s World Cup game between Tunisia and Australia, the two teams who meet for the first time at the major tournament. Tunisia produced a fine display in a goalless draw with Denmark, meaning that boss Jalel Kadri is unlikely to make changes to the starting XI. Anyhow, the Eagles of Carthage should continue to rely on their rock-solid defence.
The Socceroos, on the other hand, experienced all sorts of problems at the back in a 4-1 loss to France, and given Tunisia’s display in the Group D opener, we believe that there is a big value in betting on the African side. There are no fresh injury worries in Graham Arnold’s team ahead of the second group game. In their only previous meeting on the international stage (2005 Confederations Cup) Tunisia defeated Australia 2-0, and we predict that the history is going to repeat iself.
Our Prediction, Tunisia to win.
Poland VS Saudi Arabia
Following a goalless draw with Mexico, Poland will look to climb to top position in Group C when they take on Saudi Arabia at Education City Stadium. Despite failing to convert a penalty in the opener, a man to watch in the home team will be Robert Lewandowski, who is likely to prove a handful for the opposition back-line. There are no fresh injury concerns in Czeslaw Michniewicz’s team, but Juventus forward Arkadiusz Milik could sneak into the starting XI.
Herve Renard’s men, on the other hand, recorded the biggest win in the national team’s history, with the team coming from behind to beat star-studded Argentina 2-1. Saudi Arabia are high on spirits ahead of Saturday’s clash, but we do not believe that they are capable of claiming yet another major scalp at the 2022 World Cup finals. Yasir Al-Shahrani is sidelined with injury for the Arabian Falcons.
Our prediction, Poland to win.
France VS Denmark
After coming from behind to crush Australia 4-1, France will look to cement top position in Group D when they face Denmark at Stadium 974. Real Madrid ace Karim Benzema was not missed at all in the opener, and, no doubt, Olivier Giroud, who scored a brace against the Socceroos, will prove a handful for the opposition back-line. Lucas Hernandez suffered a serious injury against Australia, with his brother Theo likely to step up.
The Danes, on the other hand, failed to impress in a goalless draw with Tunisia, which is yet another reason why we are tempted to put our money on Didier Deschamps’ troops.
The two teams played out a goalless draw at the 2018 World Cup finals, but home win should be considered this time out.
Our prediction, France to win and GG
Argentina VS Mexico
Argentina will look to make amends for a shocking 2-1 loss to Saudi Arabia when they take on Mexico at Lusail Iconic Stadium. La Albiceleste failed to impress in the Group C opener, and, as a result, they face a must-win situation against El Tri. Man City attacker Julian Alvarez should be recalled to the starting XI, while there are no fresh injury worries in the home team.
The Mexicans, on the other hand, were more than fortunate to share the spoils with Poland in their opener as Robert Lewandowski failed to convert a penalty. Since Tata Martino’s men were anything but impressive in the first group game, we are tempted to put our money on Leo Messi and Co, who are surely capable of recovering from the embarrassing defeat. Fit-again Wolverhampton attacker Raul Jimenez is widely expected to return to Mexico’s starting XI.
Our prediction, Argentina to win and over 1.5 goals
Japan VS Costa Rica
Buoyed by a come-from-behind win over Germany, Japan will look to give fans yet another reason for celebration when they face Costa Rica at Ahmad bin Ali Stadium. The Samurai Blue proved their worth in the World Cup opener, and a win over Costa Rica will see them move one step closer to advancing to the knockout stages. Both Doan and Asano, who got their names on the scoresheet against Germany, are pushing for recalls, but there are no fresh injury worries in Hajime Moriyasu’s team.
Luis Suarez’s troops, on the other hand, experienced all sorts of problems at the back in a 7-0 loss to Spain, which is probably the main reason why we are going to bet on Japan.
Our prediction, Japan to win and GG
Belgium VS Morocco
Belgium will be aiming to retain top position in Group F when they take on Morocco in Doha on Sunday afternoon. The Red Devils defeated Canada thanks to Michy Batshuayi’s goal, but it has to be noted that the Canucks failed to convert a penalty in the first half. Inter center-forward Romelu Lukaku remains on the sidelines with an injury, while there are no other selection worries in Roberto Martinez’s team.
The Atlas Lions, on the other hand, did well to hold Croatia to a goalless draw in their opener, but they will have much bigger fish to fry against Belgium. In their last meeting at the World Cup finals, back in 1994, Belgium defeated Morocco 1-0, and we predict that history is going to repeat itself.
Our prediction, Belgium to win or GG
Croatia VS Canada
Croatia and Canada face each other at Khalifa International Stadium in what will be their first meeting at the World Cup finals. The Croats failed to impress in the Group F opener, with the team creating no more than one goal-scoring opportunity, but they are still seen as slim favorites to beat Canada in Doha. Nikola Vlasic is unlikely to feature against the Canucks after limping off with an injury in the World Cup opener.
Meanwhile, John Herdman’s men were more than unfortunate not to grab something from the first group game, with Bayern Munich ace Alphonso Davies failing to convert a penalty. Canada’s display, though, against Belgium was promising, and that is the main reason why we predict the nominal visitors will hold Croatia to a draw. Both Alistair Johnston and Alphonso Davies are one yellow card away from suspension.
Our prediction, Over 2.5 or Draw
Spain VS Germany
The ground at Al Bayt Stadium will shake when Spain and Germany face each other in the Group E derby on Sunday evening. La Roja aim to build on a thrilling 7-0 win over Costa Rica, but this game will be anything but a walk in the park for the nominal hosts. With no fresh injury worries to report, Luis Enrique is unlikely to make changes to the team that hammered los Ticos.
Hansi Flick’s troops, on the other hand, failed to impress in a 2-1 loss to Japan. The Germans are desperate to grab something from their second group game, and seeing that they will adopt an attack-minded approach in Sunday’s encounter, both teams to score betting option should be considered. Leon Goretzka is widely expected to return to the starting XI, while Leroy Sane faces race against clock to be fit for the match.
Our prediction, GG or Draw.
