As actions return to club football over the weekend, that brings back the UEFA Champions League actions as well.
And this week’s 2 nights of UCL actions come with lots of exciting actions, suspense, and opportunity to win more on the YangaSport platform.
With no further delay, let’s dive into the review and tell you what we think of some selected actions across Tuesday and Wednesday.
Here is our opinion…
Villarreal VS Manchester United
Everyone will be looking out for the match between Villarreal and Manchester United as they face each other in the Group F derby. Villareal aims to build on back-to-back wins over Young Boys, but the Red Devils will pose a much bigger threat for the La Liga side than their previous rivals. Important attacker Gerard Moreno remains in the recovery room, but seeing that Villarreal is tough to beat at home, we predict that the Yellow Submarine are going to grab something from the match.
The Red Devils, on the other hand, came from behind to share the spoils with Atalanta in their last group game, while Ole Gunnar Solskjaer got fired following a 4-1 loss to Watford at the weekend. Given the current situation in the away team’s dressing room, a home win should be considered. Cavani is a major doubt, while both Pogba and Varane remain on the sidelines with injuries. Marcus Greenwood misses out through illness.
Our prediction is GG or Over 2.5
Barcelona VS Benfica
After Barcelona beat Espanyol on Xavi’s debut as the new Barcelona boss, the Catalans giant will be aiming to give fans yet another reason for celebration when they take on Benfica at their Camp Nou. A win over Benfica will see Barca book their place in the Champions League last 16, and they are likely to fight tooth and nail against the Eagles. Sergio Aguero has retired from football due to heart problems, while Sergio Busquets and Nico have joined the likes of Dest, Braithwaite, Pedri, Ansu Fati, and Wague in the recovery room.
The Primeira Liga outfit, on the other hand, is two points behind Barcelona in Group E. Jorge Jesus’ men are likely to adopt an attack-minded approach in Tuesday’s clash, meaning that Barca should have several chances to seal the victory on the break. The likes of Almeida, Dias, Lazaro, Nunez, Pinho, and Seferovic are sidelined with injuries.
Our prediction is Barcelona to win
Lille VS Salzburg
Lille and Salzburg face each other in a highly-anticipated Champions League game at Stade Pierre-Mauroy in the Champions League group stages round 5. Les Dogues did well to beat Sevilla on the road in their last group game, with the team climbing to second place in the standings. Lille is eager to book their spot in the knockout stages, but they will have to prove their worth on the field.
Canada international David, who scored a brace in a 2-2 draw with Monaco, will be the man to watch in the home team, whilst all Bamba, Botman, Jardim, Sanches, and Gudmundsson are out of contention with injuries. The Red Bulls, on the other hand, failed to turn their dominance into victory in a goalless draw with Admira at the weekend, and seeing that the Austrian champions failed to impress in a 2-1 loss at Wolfsburg, we are tempted to put our money on the hosts. The likes of Junuzovic, Koita, Okoh, Piatkowski, and Vallci are injured for the visiting team.
Our prediction is Lille wins
Sevilla VS Wolfsburg
Sevilla and Wolfsburg, the two teams who are vying for a place in the Champions League last 16, face each other at Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan on Tuesday evening. Los Sevillanos are eyeing their first win of the process, and they are likely to fight tooth and nail against the Wolves. Experienced midfielder Ivan Rakitic should be recalled to the starting XI, while Youssef En Nesyri and Jesus Navas remain in the recovery room.
The Bundesliga side, on the other hand, did well to beat Salzburg in their last group game. Wolfsburg aims to overtake Lille in second place, and seeing that both sides should go for a win, we believe that there is a big value in betting on both teams to score. Both Bialek and Schlager are out of contention through injuries, while Klinger remains quarantined.
Our Prediction is GG or Over 2.5
Young Boys VS Atalanta
Stadion Wankdorf will host Tuesday’s Champions League game between Young Boys and Atalanta, the two teams who aim to keep their knockout stages hopes alive. Young Boys kicked off their Champions League campaign in style, with the team beating Man Utd at home, but they are on a three-game losing run in Group F ahead of the trip to Bern. All Camara, Monteiro, Zesiger, and Fassnacht are sidelined with injuries, while all Nsame, Petignat, and Lustenberg are rated doubtful.
The Orobici, on the other hand, produced fine displays in back-to-back meetings with Man Utd, and given their attacking display in a 5-2 crushing of Spezia, we believe that punters from all around the globe can find value in betting on Duvan Zapata and Co. Both Gosens and Hateboer should miss out with injuries, while Lovato faces a race against the clock to be fit for the match.
Our prediction is GG or 2.5
Besiktas VS Ajax
Ajax will look to cement top position in Group C when they take on Besiktas in Istanbul in their penultimate group game. The Amsterdammers have been impressive in the 2021/2022 Champions League campaign, but, no doubt, they want to keep their 100% record intact. All Klaiber, Kudus, and Stekelenburg should miss out on injuries for the away team.
The Turks, on the other hand, have little to play in Wednesday’s clash as they are stuck at the bottom of the table. Besiktas have suffered a loss in each of their first four group games and given their shaky defense, we believe that there is a big value in betting on Dusan Tadic and Co. Important attacker Michu Batshuayi misses out with a back injury, which is yet another reason why we are tempted to put our money on the away team.
Our prediction is Ajax to win or Over 2.5
Inter Milan VS Shakhtar Donetsk
Inter will be aiming to retain their spot in the top two when they host Shakhtar Donetsk to their Stadio Giuseppe Meazza on Wednesday evening. The Nerazzurri faced no difficulties in back-to-back wins over Sheriff Tiraspol, but they will have a much bigger fish to fry against Shakhtar Donetsk. Inter are eager to book their place in the Champions League last 16, and we are positive that they will prove their worth on the field.
Even though both Alexis Sanchez and Stefan de Vrij are sidelined with injuries, Simone Inzaghi’s troops are seen as favorites to win Wednesday’s clash. The Miners, on the other hand, have been struggling in this edition of the elite competition, with the team collecting only one point in total in the process. Since the rock-bottom side has little to play for in the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza game, a home win should be considered.
Our Prediction is Inter Milan to win
Atletico Madrid VS AC Milan
Atletico Madrid and Milan go head to head at Estadio Wanda Metropolitano in a highly-anticipated Champions League game. Los Rojiblancos are only one point behind second-place Porto, meaning that a win over Milan could see them move one step closer to booking their place in the last 16. Luis Suarez should be recalled to the starting XI after coming as a substitute in a 1-0 win over Osasuna, while both Kieran Trippier and Joao Felix should miss out with injuries. Defender Felipe is banned.
The Rossoneri, on the other hand, have been struggling in the elite competition this season, with the team collecting only one point in total in the process. Milan is fully focused on the national championship and the race for Scudetto, which is probably the main reason why we are tempted to put our money on Diego Simeone’s troops. Zlatan Ibrahimovic should continue to lead the line for the visitors after scoring a brace in a 4-3 loss to Fiorentina, while all Castillejo, Tomori, and Rebic are injured.
Our Prediction is Atletico Madrid to win
Liverpool VS Porto
Liverpool will look to keep their 100% record in Group B intact when they welcome Porto to their Anfield on Wednesday evening. Jurgen Klopp’s troops rolled over Arsenal 4-0 at the weekend, and, no doubt, they are brimming with confidence ahead of the visit of Porto. Keep in mind, though, that the German tactician is going to rest key players this time out. All Firmino, Gomez, Jones, Keita, Milner, and Robertson are sidelined with injuries, while Minamino, Konate, Henderson, and Morton are pushing for a start.
The Dragons, on the other hand, aim to retain their spot in the top two, and, no doubt, they would be happy with one point from the match. Porto is not regarded as a good traveler, but seeing that the Reds will be without several first-team regulars in Wednesday’s clash, the share of spoils is on the cards. Chancel Mbemba returns from suspension, while fellow defender Pepe remains in the recovery room.
Our Prediction is Liverpool to win
Man City VS PSG
The ground at Etihad Stadium will shake when Manchester City and Paris-Saint German face each other in the Group A derby. The Citizens aim to retain the top position in the standings, and, no doubt, they would be happy with one point from the match. Pep Guardiola can’t count on Kevin de Bruyne as the Belgium ace was tested positive for coronavirus, while Ferran Torres remains in the recovery room. Gabriel Jesus is pushing for a start after coming as a substitute in a 3-0 win over Everton.
Les Parisiens, on the other hand, aim to retain their spot in the top two. Head coach Mauro Pochettino can count on fantastic trio Mbappe – Messi – Neymar for Wednesday’s derby, and, taking everything into account, both teams to score betting option should be considered. Goalkeeper Donnarumma has been tested positive for coronavirus, while all Rafinha, Ramos, and Kimpembe are sidelined with injuries.
Our prediction is GG or Over 2.5
Sheriff Tiraspol VS Real Madrid
Sheriff Tiraspol and Real Madrid take on each other at Stadionul Sheriff in the Champions League round 5. Los Blancos aim to cement top position in Group D, and they are likely to fight tooth and nail against the Moldovans. All Gareth Bale, Dani Ceballos, Eden Hazard, and Federico Valverde are sidelined with injuries, while a man to watch in the away team will be Brazil rising star Vinicius Junior, who is enjoying a very successful season.
Sheriff, on the other hand, kicked off their Champions League campaign in a great manner, with the team beating both Real Madrid and Shakhtar Donetsk, but they failed to impress in back-to-back defeats to Inter. Since the Moldovan champions are on the downtrend, we are tempted to put our money on Carlo Ancelotti’s troops. A man to keep an eye on in the home team will be Adama Traore, who found the net in Sheriff’s 3-1 win over Floresti at the weekend.
Our prediction is Real Madrid to win with Ov1.5
Sporting VS Borussia Dortmund
Estadio Jose Alvalade will host Wednesday’s Champions League game between Sporting CP and Borussia Dortmund. The Lions aim to build on back-to-back wins over Besiktas, and they are likely to stick to their attacking style of play. Pedro Goncalves, who scored a brace in the Taca de Portugal win over Varzim at the weekend, is pushing for a start, as well as former PSG winger Pablo Sarabia.
The Bundesliga side, on the other hand, continues life without injured ace Erling Haland, who should be sorely missed in Wednesday’s clash. Since important defender Mats Hummels is banned for the match, we believe that punters from all four corners of the world can find value in betting on the capital club. In Haland’s absence, a man to keep an eye on in the away team will be experienced attacker Marco Reus, who scored the winner against Stuttgart at the weekend.
Our prediction GG or Over 2.5
